Global Family
Over the last 120 years Christianity has gone from being "mostly western, mostly European" to being truly global, just as the prophets going back to Abraham envisioned....
Genesis 12:3: "...in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Matthew 28:19: "Go, and make disciples of all nations..."
As often happens to those living through a historic shift, many of us are unaware of what's happening in our lifetimes. Here's a bit of context to show how much things have changes in the past century.
In the year 1900, 82% of professing Christians lived in Europe and North America with just 18% living in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Today, just 33% of professing believers are from Europe and North America, while 67% hail from the "global south"--from a historical perspective, the Christian faith has exploded in South America, Asia, and the Middle East. Africa had 9 million believers in 1900. Today, it boasts almost 700 million. While these numbers are based on official government statistics, due to persecution in the Middle East and Asia, these numbers are likely much higher than "official" statistics allow, as believers in China, Indonesia, and many other nations keep their identity secret from the government.
In the last 120 years, the Church Jesus started has truly "gone global".
Global Family 24/7 Prayer Room
For the past three years, I have been privileged to serve the Global Family 24/7 Prayer Room. Led by my good friend Jason Hubbard, and partnering with amazing leaders from all six-continents, we have seen the global church unite together and sustain 24/7 prayer on Zoom since January 1, 2021. Each and every week I pray together with people from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America. Each and every week, I get to hear prayers in many languages, much as Heaven must hear our prayers.
To be honest, this opportunity is too good not to share! We'd love to have you join in and experience the goodness of God in a global prayer meeting that never stops--one you can join from your home.
We are currently looking for new prayer leaders for global family. A prayer leader:
* Commits to lead the same hour of weekly prayer in the Global Family Zoom Room
* Has a theme or focus for their weekly prayer time
* Leads a team of 2 or more people who share prayer leadership in their weekly hour
