Just a Coin in God's Pocket

“I’m just a coin in your pocket, Lord, spend me as you wish.” John Wimber

From March 13-17th, about 70 city and regional leaders gathered from 16 nations, representing all 6 continents, to simply sit at Jesus’ feet together. The heart of 10 Days is this question: what would it be like if as a global church, we met back in the upper room in one accord? The answer is that He shows up.

The first night of the 10 Days Summit, a dear brother from Pakistan began leading prayer as the worship started to play in the background… and the Holy Spirit descended on the room. The presence of God was a tangible breath on the air.

Everyone said the Summit was like coming home to family. There was such a sweet presence of the Lord and unity amongst us. Gaylord Enns shared on Jesus’ Commandment to love one another. Gaylord spoke on John 13-17 and we were meeting from March 13-17. Man plans his way but the Lord directs His steps.

Another sweet moment, during the Summit, was a time of repentance and reconciliation between India and Pakistan on behalf of their nations involvement in division. Those from Pakistan and India were repenting on behalf of the strife and bitterness between their nations. Then, at a certain point there was further repentance from three British believers. This time of reconciliation ended with the groups from Great Britain, India, and Pakistan washing each others feet in humility and forgiveness.

We were blessed to have a good group come representing Big Life, a disciple making movement network. They did a wonderful presentation on what disciple making movements are and how every believer should be a disciple worth reproducing. We broke into small groups and practiced Discovery Bible Study’s with one another. This was a powerful representation of how the prayer and missions movements are coming together in unity.

10 Days isn’t about an organization. It’s not about building a name or a brand. 10 Days is about being hungry for Jesus with hearts desperate to pray, worship, and repent before a Holy God with the goal to see the environment shift because Jesus is returning. He wants a spotless bride who is one in Him because He is one with the Father (John 17:21).

Luis Burgos, from Bridgeport, CT, shared one day at the Summit: “Jonathan used to say 10 Days is an ugly baby that God had given him. 8 years ago, only 25 locations worldwide. Last year, over 300 locations and we are beginning to see 10 Days mature into a beautiful child.”

The beautiful child is a recognition that we have to humbly go back to what the early apostles did and lay it all down, stop, and seek the Lord together in one accord. Jonathan likes to say that “Jesus gets what He prays for.” Jesus is coming back. How will we be living our lives in anticipation and preparation for the day that He appears? Wouldn’t it be amazing to be saying, “Come, Lord Jesus, Come” and Jesus returns?

If we are a coin in God’s pocket, how would you live? If God could spend you anywhere, where would He send you? Would your life be different? Could you help see unity among your friends, family, pastors, cities, regions?

The Summit was a building up of our spirits so that we could go home and be virgins with extra oil. 10 Days is a preparation of the heart for the return of Jesus. Seeking the Lord through consecrated prayer, worship, and repentance in one accord before the throne room of a Living God. That’s the invitation to all of us.
