10 Days starts next week!

It’s hard to believe that 10 Days begins in eight days!  Christians all over America will be coming together within their cities for a set-apart time of worship, fasting, and prayer.

Last Tuesday, we had a conference call with coordinators from 9 differnt regions. Jaime Dicke took notes on the call so that others would be able to “listen in”. Here’s a little glimpse into what’s happening in various cities as we approach 10 Days.

Los Angeles is uniting together to intercede for breakthrough in the Entertainment industry. There is a large Jewish community in Hollywood, so the fact that 10 Days takes place during the fall Jewish feasts is a way that believers are honoring, loving, and reaching out to the Jewish community. So far 7 nights of prayer are planned, let pray for all 10 nights to be filled. Karen Covell, Hollywood Prayer Network

Boston: This year, there is a larger team of people who are owning and sharing the vision of 10 Days.  Instead of just hosting a night, they are engaging with the deeper vision of setting these days apart to seek God.  10 Days Boston is excited to have two gatherings hosted by Roman Catholics this year as well as a gathering hosted by an Eastern Orthodox congregation for the first time! Pray for Boston to use this opportunity to wholeheartedly seek the Lord.  Kelly Steinhaus, UniteBoston

Houlton, ME is a small town of around 5,500 people in Northern Maine. Unity among believers has been increasing recently. Churches that were previously isolated are realizing that they all need one another.  10 days is just an overflow of these connections that the Holy Spirit is already making in Houlton.  Travis Glater, Pastor

Connecticut is one of those unique states that can join together regionally for the 10 Days. Rick McKinniss (leader, Impact CT) who has been working to network the body of Christ for years feels that he is seeing an answer to his prayers through recent unity initiatives of prayer and worship.  There will be over 18 gatherings throughout CT during the 10 Days; most nights have multiple locations.  CT will be ending the 10 Days with a United Night of Worship on Oct. 4.  Pam Zinn, Impact CT

Worcester, MA: This is Worcester’s first 10 Days. In the last several years, a network of Kingdom minded believers has begun to gather through pastors groups, concerts of prayer, and intercessory groups.  They feel that the Holy Spirit is moving and they are just riding the crest of this wave of unity and spiritual breakthrough. Specific prayer requests include seeing walls between ethnic groups in the city come down and bridging the gap between Catholics and Protestants through a night of 10 Days hosted by Intervarsity at a Catholic college. Len Cowan, KNOW (Kingdom Network of Worcester)

Manchester, NH: Last year, Symphony House of Prayer was the host location for each night of 10 Days.  This year, they’ll be moving to 10 different locations around the city of Manchester. Several youth groups are hosting an evening together, as well as a homeless ministry and many local churches.  10 Days will end with a night of worship in a Catholic Cathedral. They are excited to taste the different flavors of the church in Manchester. Annette Tuttle, Symphony House of Prayer

Beverly/Salem, MA: 10 Days on the North Shore has been taking place since 2010, longer than any other region.  Andrea shared about how God powerfully showed up and surprised their planning team as they met to talk about 10 Days.  Join them in praying for their region, for God to bring renewal, healing, and unity. Andrea Madden, 10 Days North Shore

Amherst MA: This is the 2nd year that Amherst is participating in the 10 Days. This year will be more diverse—among other things, a local Chinese Church will be hosting a gathering in Chinese! The 10 Days is also ending with a 24 hour prayer event called Encounter. Different campus ministries and groups will lead 2 hour blocks of the 24 hours. Jaime Dicke, 10 Days Coordinator

San Diego, CA Thomas Bush shared how he is encouraging prayer mobilization through the 40 Days of Hope. Believers across San Diego, San Francisco and the nation are fasting and praying for 40 days, ending on the same day as 10 Days, Oct 4. Thomas Bush, Prayer for Cities

'I myself am going' - Will you join us this September 24 - October 4, 2014 in seeking the Lord of hosts?

Zechariah 8:21-22 - The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, 'Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek the Lord of hosts; I myself am going.' Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of host in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the Lord.
