10 Days Film Update
Several years ago, a few of us were sitting around the lunch table, talking about Jesus.
My friend Jared, a filmmaker, was surprised by how 10 Days had grown outside of the United States. The thought of so many people praying in unity all over the world in their own cultures and languages was incredibly beautiful. The testimonies we were hearing were amazing.
"The problem is that no one can see it except for God," I said.
During that lunch, an idea was birthed to travel around the world during 10 Days to document what it looks like when people from many nations are joining in extraordinary prayer. We wanted to help people see what is actually going on each year during 10 Days. 10daysfilm.com
Last September, Kirk Fraiser, Jared Crouse, Jamin Burdick, and I went on an epic adventure, filming in the United States and throughout India, Uganda, Pakistan, and Israel. We managed to leave Israel just a few days before war broke out. We captured dozens of interviews that tell remarkable stories: lots of miracles, violent persecution, children raised from the dead, supernatural love and unity, and compelling personal stories of transformation. While we used 10 Days as a filming opportunity, the film is not really about one prayer movement: it's about how when God's people pray like the book of Acts, book of Acts things start happening.
Since then, the team has moved into "post-production". We've shot all of our primary footage and we've put it together into a draft that tells the basic story we want to tell. We are hoping to finish a complete first draft by August 12th. The final release date is not set right now, but we're expecting it to be ready to show early next year.
We wanted to show you a sneak peak of one sequence from the narrative draft, just to give you a sense of what it looks like.
We wanted to give an opportunity to help financially with finishing this project as the Lord leads.
We especially wanted to ask for prayer as we put hours and hours of editing work into this film, that we would have grace and skill to tell the story of the incredible things God is doing when ordinary believers pray in an extraordinary way.
